Useful info when starting your #spaceshipsroadtrip in Auckland

Starting your road trip in Auckland is easy. The Spaceships Auckland depot is located between the city centre and the airport so it is easy to reach, whether you want to roll from the airport straight into your campervan or want to spend a day or two in the city to relax from the journey to New Zealand. The latter is something we highly recommend when you've just come from the other side of the world. Safety first, Space Travellers.

Petrol stations nearby

At Spaceships, we like to keep things as easy as possible. The same goes for the fuel level of your campervan: fuel level out is fuel level in. You just have to return the vehicle with the same fuel level it had when you picked it up. For example, if the tank on pick-up is half-full, you return the campervan with a half tank of fuel. Unfortunately, we can't tell you the level of fuel your campervan will have when you pick it up, but it is definitely enough to start your road trip.

You can fuel up at the petrol stations nearby.

Auckland: explore the area with your Spaceship

Over 1.4 million people live in the city of Auckland. That's more than a third of the population in New Zealand. Auckland is built between the Manukau and Waitemata Harbours. The city's nickname 'City of Sails' is easy to understand as soon as you look over the waters. Many Aucklanders own a boat to enjoy a beautiful day on the water.

You'll find more than 40 volcanoes in the region. The oldest is 150,000 years old, while the youngest (Rangitoto Island) formed only 600 years ago. Other well-known volcanoes are One Tree Hill and Mt Eden. (more info)
